CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSION GALLERY
Images from the 1962 annual Whitsun walks.
20 IMAGES
Images are presented in chronological order, starting with the beginning of the parade.
I have been fortunate in being contacted by someone who took part in this parade, and has kindly provided me with the correct date of 1962. I've also included some background information that people may find useful.
The 'senior band' uniforms were tailor made in Edinburgh, and 'junior bands' were made by a dressmaker/seamstress in nearby Dorset Street. The white house with the large painted sign 'St Patrick's Hall' was the home of Mr. and Mrs. Withers, who were caretakers of the hall and school which would have been to the right of this picture. The corners of Thomas and Madras Streets can be made out on the left.
